Take-Home Books

This year, in conjunction with our reading program, students will be taking home "Take-Home Books." These are short, photocopied selections for students to practice reading and other skills taught in class.

Recently, students have been using them to practice identifying the Main Idea of a story, Summarizing, Text-to-Self Connections and Vocabulary.

Students are to keep these in their Take-Home Folder until I tell them they can keep them at home. Students can also use the time spent reading the selection for their 20/20 Reading Chart. This helps to kill two birds with one stone - especially for those reluctant readers.
